Meet Lady Gaga's Adorable New “Batpig” (AKA French Bulldog) Asia!

Looks like there's one more little monster added to Lady Gaga's fan base-and this adorable little creature may actually be a monster!

The 28-year-old posted a video of the newest member of her family, Asia, a French bulldog pup-who she affectionately declared to be a "Batpig."

"Her name is Asia. She is a BATPIG. I love her, I'm her mom," the songstress captioned an adorable video of the pup on Instagram.

On her website, Gaga also shared a picture of Asia sitting on her lap and wrote "Me and my BATPIG #partBAT #partPIG."

While Asia is simply a French bulldog-and therefore neither bat, nor pig-it's easy to see how Mother Monster came up with the nickname, thanks to Asia's scrunched little face and her long ears!

Asia's arrival comes months after Gaga tragically lost her childhood dog, Alice.

"My puppy Alice died. We had to put her down, cancer ate away at a little angel," she tweeted in October. "My daddy is so sad, we all are, lost a member of our family."

While no one can replace her beloved Alice, hopefully Asia can help put a smile on Lady Gaga's face-she's already brightened our day!

Lady Gaga and Lauren Conrad Get New Dogs—See Pics of the Precious Puppies!

and Lauren Conrad have new babies just in time for Mother's Day!

The pop star and Pinterest princess both got new puppies this weekend, and luckily for us, Gaga and L.C. were quick to proudly show off pictures of their bundles of joy!

Gaga, 28, posted a photo of her black baby French Bulldog on LittleMonsters.com. In the supercute shot, captioned "Me and my BATPIG #partBAT #partPIG," the wide-eyed canine sits on Mother Monster's lap in the font seat of a car, looking back at her innocently.

VIDEO: An adorable example of just why you should adopt!

The "G.U.Y." singer also Instagrammed a video of some puppy playtime, writing, "Her name is Asia. She is a BATPIG I love her I'm her mom." ("Batpig," BTW, is an affectionate term of endearment for this breed.)

Gaga's new babe is obviously adorable, but Frenchies, who are steadily rising in popularity, can be prone to a lot of health problems-perhaps due to the fact that over 80 percent have to be delivered by caesarean section.

Unlike Gaga, though, Conrad, 28 opted to stray from the designer dog route and adopt what appears to be a German Shepherd mix. The Hills alum, who has two other rescue pups, Instagrammed a picture of her addition Sunday, writing, "Newest member of the Conrad clan stole me heart."

With a face like that, how could it not? Congratulations to Gaga and Conrad on their new loves!

Lady Gaga's New Friend Is A Real Little Monster

Photo: Courtesy of Lady Gaga.

In the land of gods dogs and monsters, Lady Gaga is mother. And, she's found the best of both worlds with her new bud Asia.

Asia is a French bulldog, but the Lady is under the impression that she's some sort of bat/pig hybrid. The canine's larger-than-life ears might have a thing or two to do with that. Gaga enthusiastically introduced the newest member of her Haus via her own social-media platform yesterday, saying "Me and my BATPIG #partbat #partpig." The frenzy soon escalated into a whirlwind of sharing. Between her tweets and Instagrams, Mother Monster and her hoards of fans quickly fell head-over-towering-heels in love with the pup.

Gaga is the latest celeb to hop on the puppy train. If you recall, Miley Cyrus recently got herself a new puppy after her other dog Floyd passed away. Cyrus didn't add a batpig to her family, though. Gaga's the only one with the (wannabe) hybrid pup. But, hey, let's think of Asia as a little monster Gaga can keep by her side at all times. Paws up, batpig!

It's #MCM: How Lady Gaga's Boyfriend Taylor Kinney Set Our Hearts On Fire

He's hot, he's got a ridiculous body and he fights fires (on TV). Of course we are talking about Lady Gaga's longtime boyfriend Taylor Kinney, who is this week's MTV News pick for #ManCrushMonday.

Taylor is set to star alongside Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton and Leslie Mann in the upcoming flick "The Other Woman," hitting theaters Friday, April 25, but this 32-year-old has held our attention for quite some time.

Taylor has been a television star for a number of years, appearing on "The Vampire Diaries" and "Fashion House," but it was when he starred alongside Gaga in her hit 2011 music video "You and I" that our jaws hit the floor. I mean, just take a look at those abs. Gaga, you are seriously a lucky lady.

Taylor, along with his six-pack, then landed the role of Kelly Severide on the NBC hit drama "Chicago Fire," where he has been setting hearts on fire for the past two years. And if that weren't enough, he also appears on the show's spin-off, "Chicago P.D."

The happy couple are rumoured to be close to an engagement

Sweet Taylor Kinney has been singing Lady Gaga's praise as the couple reach their third anniversary.

The 32-year-old actor gushed to UsMagazine.com: "You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people including myself."

As the Chicago Fire star praised his mega-famous girlfriend, real name Stefani Germanotta, rumours were flying that he is planning on proposing, once he finds the right diamond ring.

"Taylor's been looking at engagement rings for Stef for a couple of months,' a source recently said. 'He has told a couple of his close guy friends that he wants to propose soon."

Smoochy pic posted on Little Monsters site

Lady Gaga, 28, previously admitted that she is completely smitten with Taylor and recently posted a picture of them kissing on her Little Monsters website.

"He is extremely strange, actually, and we complement each other's weirdness," she said. She also surprised her fans by admitting that Taylor is 'in charge' of their relationship.

Taylor has claimed in the past that their differences make the relationship successful. He said: "I'm reserved. She's not. For whatever reason, it works. It works and that's that."

Boy George: Still on the Scene, Despite Lady Gaga

Boy George ordered the cauliflower and sweet-corn polenta, along with an avocolada smoothie and a "cheese" plate made of fermented cashews.

His drug-imbibing days may be legion, but Boy George, now 52, is sober ("six years and three months," he said) and mostly vegan. "Raw is purer," he said, sitting at Pure Food and Wine, an upscale vegan restaurant near Union Square where nothing is cooked above 118 degrees.

The '80s pop star was in town promoting his new album, " This Is What I Do," his first collection of entirely new material in nearly two decades, and catching up with New York friends the night after his sold-out show at Irving Plaza.

The tablemates included his makeup artist Christine Bateman; Miss Guy, a D.J. who looks like the drag version of Deborah Harry; Miss Guy's boyfriend, Brian Kuchta; his publicist, Alexandra Baker; and a former drag queen who identified himself as Michael Cavadias.

Aging was a recurring topic. Boy George, who is much thinner than in recent years and was dressed conservatively (for him) in a leather-trimmed blazer, plaid shirt and black top hat, said he didn't really miss his younger clubbing days.

"I was driving by the Limelight on my way here, thinking 'I am so glad they turned it into a shopping center,' " he said. "Do something useful with the place."

Talk also turned to finding love in the age of mobile apps. "I have a Grindr profile, but I don't really use it," said Boy George, who is single and loathes it when people put "No Fems," in their profiles. "I'm like, 'Have you seen yourself?' Then they block me."

Ultimately, Boy George seems to prefer virtual interaction with his own kind: celebrities.

"Cher's following you on Twitter now," Miss Guy said.

"I know - it only took like 20 years," said Boy George, who soon revealed that he is somewhat miffed about the fact that Lady Gaga still hasn't.

"She loves you," Miss Guy said.

"Well, she doesn't follow me," Boy George said.

Around 10:15 p.m., he finished a sundae with cashew- and coconut-based ice cream and thanked a maitre d' for the free hors d'oeuvres, before he climbed into a waiting S.U.V. that was to take him to Andy Cohen's " Watch What Happens Live " show on Bravo.

Outside the show's studio on Vandam Street in SoHo, fans were lined up with old Culture Club records and memorabilia, including a Boy George doll that looked nothing like him. The former Culture Club frontman signed a few autographs, but turned down one person's request to sign a slew of albums, explaining that this was no fan but an eBay seller.

"If you show up with 15 records, you're not there for me," he said, before going inside and taking a seat in a makeshift dressing room.

Boy George admitted that he didn't even know who Andy Cohen was. "Is he cute?" he asked.

"Very," said Ms. Baker, as Ms. Bateman began applying his makeup, a surprisingly light coat of foundation and some mascara.

Five minutes later, Boy George moseyed over to the studio, where he was met by Mr. Cohen and the actress Marisa Tomei, who was promoting her new play, "The Realistic Joneses."

The three enjoyed one another, gabbing for 20 minutes on-camera and playing '80s-themed trivia games. One was called "Do You Really Want to Squirt Me."

First question: Name the top-selling Culture Club single of all time. Mr. Cohen answered incorrectly and was squirted by Ms. Tomei. The correct answer was "Karma Chameleon." "That went right in my eye," Mr. Cohen said.

After the show, there was talk of going to Susanne Bartsch's new party in Chelsea for a drink. But this former party boy, who was staying at the Night Hotel in Times Square, was ready to pack it in. He was leaving in the morning, flying to Toronto for another concert.

"There's like five more shows, then I'm back in the U.K. and recording with Culture Club in May," Boy George said to Ms. Tomei. "I'm looking forward to my bed."

North Korean women believe Kim Jong Il invented burgers and Lady Gaga is man

Miss Kim, 20, a student studying English in Pyongyang, gave Eric Lafforgue a rare insight into North Korean life When she's not studying, she likes to play computer games and says she hopes to travel to the UK one day Unfamiliar with the reality of life in the West, she thinks Kim Jong Il invented the burger and Lady Gaga is male She is also convinced that South Koreans would like to shoot her and says she hates Americans Lafforgue says much of what Miss Kim believes is propaganda which North Koreans listen to from a young age

By Ruth Styles

She's convinced that hamburgers were invented by Kim Jong Il, thinks Lady Gaga is a man and refuses to ride a bicycle on the grounds that it's dangerous and would ruin the shape of her legs.

Meet 20-year-old Miss Kim, a student studying English at Pyongyang's University of Foreign Studies. As a reward for good behaviour, she was given the task of escorting French photographer Eric Lafforgue as he toured North Korea earlier this year.

'She had never previously left Pyongyang,' explains Lafforgue. 'It was a unique opportunity for her to visit her own country and to get to meet and speak to a foreigner.

'She was shy at first, but became quite talkative as the days went on and told me what life in North Korea is like for younger people, albeit without ever deviating from the party line.'

Miss Kim, who says her favourite place in Pyongyang is the dolphinarium and her favourite animals the dolphins, told Lafforgue of her penchant for Mozart, Bach and Beethoven and was baffled when he asked if she liked Lady Gaga. 'I don't know who he is, no,' she told him.

Perhaps her American nationality might have had something to do with it, with Miss Kim insisting she only speaks 'English English' and telling the photographer that she 'hates Americans'.

Unsurprisingly, she's also convinced that the hamburger was invented by Kim Jong Il in 2009, while Mickey Mouse is the creation of China. ' They talk nonsense Mr Eric,' she said of the inhabitants of the US. 'I hate Americans!'

She also declares herself to be less than enthusiastic about South Koreans, saying that while those crossing the border from the south would be welcomed, travellers going the other way 'would be shot'.

Miss Kim is, however, a fan of films, according to Lafforgue. 'My favourite film is Sea of Blood,' she told him. Asked what it's about, she added: 'It's about the mass killings perpetrated by the Japanese against our people.'

Gladiator is another favourite, although she did reveal that some scenes proved to make for uncomfortable viewing. 'Some scenes were embarrassing,' she said. 'The scenes where you see a couple together.'

North Koreans take a relatively old-fashioned approach to dating, with girls reluctant to even dance with a boy they've only just met, while according to Miss Kim, pregnancy outside of marriage and HIV are both unheard of. 'That [pregnancy] never happens,' she insists. 'It never happens!' What about AIDS? 'We don't have AIDS here. Zero.'

While Miss Kim is happy to talk about her feelings for the late Kim Il Sung ('he was a pillar of my heart'), she reacts with outrage when asked whether current leader Kim Jong Un is attractive to women. 'That's an outrageous question!' she remonstrates.

Other parts of North Korean life are strikingly similar to Western lifestyles, with Miss Kim revealing a penchant for computer games and ambitions to travel abroad.

'Would you like to visit a foreign country?' Lafforgue asks her. 'Yes Mr Eric, I would like to visit England,' she replies. Despite her English skills, however, she says she won't be travelling to the US any time soon. 'No,' she insists. 'I only speak England's English!'

Bizarre though much of what she says is, Lafforgue isn't surprised. ' The thing to remember is that almost everything she says is official propaganda, even the silly things,' he explains.

'People like Miss Kim are taught this sort of thing from kindergarten, so in that sense, she's a perfect citizen. North Koreans don't see the disparity between what they think is good to tell us and what we can see for ourselves.'

Lady Gaga's foundation supports youth mental health discussions

Texting offers new way to get youth engaged in mental health discussions. Creating Community Solutions and Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation are sponsoring a texting conversation about mental health. All you need to chime in is a cell phone. The latest digital mental health discussion for and between young people kicks off today. An emerging mental health "conference" offers a new kind of group rapport: a conversation entirely conducted by texting. The latest digital mental health discussion for and between young people kicks off today. "We specifically wanted to do this through a text messaging platform to appeal to youth," said Raquel Goodrich, the online engagement manager for the National Institute for Civil Discourse. "This could be a really good way to get youth talking about mental health." The event is called "Text, Talk, Act to Improve Mental Health." To participate, gather three or four friends and text START to 89800. The "conversation" takes about an hour - every time you text in, you get a text back with a different discussion question - and once in a while you'll receive polling questions and a link to a website with the polling results, which also allows you to view all the different responses and ideas that have been texted in. Occasionally, people text in who are in crisis. To make sure they get immediate assistance, one of the first texts people receive is the number for the national hotline for mental health crises. "There is a major need to get youth talking about mental health," said Goodrich. "This is something that helps inspire people to talk about mental health." The first Text, Talk, Act took place in December. About 600 phone lines texted in, with the National Institute for Civil Discourse estimating 2,400 participants. "This time, we anticipate a much larger turnout," said Goodrich. Part of the enhanced participation comes from the endorsement and partnership of Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation; as well as stipends offered to youth organizers. This time, 26 of them signed up. The event in principally run by Creating Community Solutions, a partnership between various "deliberative democracy" organizations created as a part of the National Dialogue on Mental Health. The National Dialogue was created by Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan after President Barack Obama called for a "national conversation to increase understanding about mental health." According to CCS, deliberative democracy is "what happens when people are able to engage meaningfully with each other and with government in order to produce better decisions and better solutions to public problems." Community conversations, whether in person or via text messaging - certainly fit into this definition. When celebrities get rich enough, we expect them to become philanthropists. So, Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, launched in 2011, makes sense to most of us. When you think about Lady Gaga, what comes to mind is probably flamboyant sexuality and a dedication to individualism no matter how unusual, so the foundation's mission to "foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated," also makes sense. The organization is focused around young people: providing them "with the skills and opportunities they need to build a kinder, braver world." With the foundation's focus on youth, getting involved in a youth mental health discussion is right up their alley. The Born This Way Foundation is run by both Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta. At the December 2013 White House conference that led to the development of the National Dialogue on Mental Health, Germanotta met Caroline Lukensmeyer, the executive director of the NICD. While they kept in touch, "it wasn't until we created the TTA that we found a natural partnership," according to Goodrich. There is no schedule set for the next TTA.

Watch: Lady Gaga's miracle tape beauty secrets put to the test

Adam Gerrard / Daily Mirror

Uncanny: Clemmie gets the Gaga look

Just when we all thought there was nothing more Lady Gaga could do to shock us, she went and did it: she taped up her face. The chart-topping singer has revealed she never gets dressed without first applying her fail-safe "miracle tape" , an adhesive designed to keep wrinkles at bay. She is 28 years old...

Still, if it is all right for Lady Gaga, it's all right with me. And at 32 my wrinkles have a four-year head-start.

So, off I trot to celebrity make-up artist Gary Cockerill who promises to transform me, a la Gaga, into a fresh-faced diva.

I want eyebrows that rise so high on my forehead I look permanently baffled and a jawline as tight and square as a 1970s East German shot-putter's. With Gaga, there is no less is more.

Happily, Gary is primed to oblige. But the Born This Way star - yes, ironic - is not the first celeb to use face-taping to stave off the ravages of time. Gary says: "It's been been around for years. Since the golden Hollywood era. Greta Garbo, people like that, all used it.

"Drag queens have been doing it for years too, to enhance their features and change their face shape. It's not a new thing.

View gallery

Adam Gerrard / Daily Mirror

"It is a make-up artist's trick, a quick fix to make someone look and feel more youthful. The tape can effectively erase a few wrinkles or lines, usually from around the neck or underneath the eyes. It can lift the eyebrows too. It's like a mini-facelift in seconds, or temporary Botox.

"I've done it on lots of people, not just older women. Young people like Gaga use it if they simply want to improve their eyebrow shape, sharpen their cheekbones or tighten things up generally.

"Along with contouring make-up, the results can be amazing. We're talking transformation."

Of course, I should have realised there'd be a catch. Three different types of tape and three-and-a half-hours later, I realise what it is: Time. And effort.

This is not a look for popping out to the newsagent. Not unless you've got a really, really hot newsagent, anyway.

Starting off with some basic wig tape (the type used by Lady Gaga) Gary sits me down and starts sticking down patches of skin. He is not happy. "This eyebrow continues to droop," he sighs as my recalcitrant left brow refuses to arch magnificently.

So off he yanks the tape, and we begin round two. This time with some DIY masking tape. That's right, masking tape.

At first the results look promising but then my jowls get in the way. Apparently the beige tape "isn't strong enough". Off it comes.

By now, I am losing the will to live. But Gary, whose celebrity roster includes Kelly Brook, Eva Longoria and Pixie Lott, is in his element, happily tightening up my stupid, slack face. "Don't worry," he tries to reassure. "Obviously I don't think you really need all this because you've got good features, but once we get this right it will lift everything. With you, we are aiming for a youthful look." Oh.

And by the sounds of it, Gaga is no stranger to spending hours in the make-up chair. Last week she said of her daily beauty regime: "It's a sort of meditation for me. Every day, it starts the same way. It's like a mantra. I wash my face, I pin my hair back and put on a wig cap and I ask, 'How am I going to form my eyes today with this tape? How will I pull back my neck with tape?'"

Getty

Glam: Lady Gaga

I look in the mirror behind me and see what looks suspiciously like a long, blonde wig. I have not had long hair since I was 11 and start to worry that this look is possibly not for me.

"My drag queen friend let me down," says Gary, deadpan. "Annoyingly I had to get this from a wig shop..."

But first comes the fetching hairnet. It looks like a cross between a granny stocking, and a Femidom (information gleaned from a biology text book, circa 1997, I hasten to add).

Once on, I look like an alien lifeform. Or Joan Collins, first thing.

Safely secured, we embark on tape No 3, a £19.50 item called the Mark Traynor Miracle Face and Neck Lift. It sounds heavy-duty, and within seconds seems to be doing the trick.

A hypoallergenic surgical tape attached to two elastics, it has eyelets and hooks to adjust the tension. The tighter you want the face to look, the harder you pull.

Minutes later a Poker Face - utterly expressionless - is the only one I can pull. And while having the tape applied and removed doesn't hurt one bit, Gary, who has a coffee-table book on make-up transformations coming out, warns it is not a look everyone should try.

He says: "At the end of the day, you've got a tape on you. You've got to be wary when you apply it.

"It's a quick fix and shouldn't be worn for too long, slept in, or worn every day. Constant use is not good for the skin.

"You are reducing the circulation so fewer nutrients get to the skin. It could make the skin look older if you did it every day. But for occasional use it is absolutely fine and can have amazing results."

I look in the mirror again, and see two perfectly groomed and arched eyebrows staring back at me. My cheekbones make me look positively waif-like. My jowls are less bloated banker, more bootcamp Barbie. I could get used to this!

I start to have visions of refusing to go out unless I am taped up - I'd be the 21st century facial equivalent of an Egyptian mummy.

Then Gary starts on the war paint, and my motivation wavers. Contouring (it's the make-up equivalent of painting by numbers) is no rush job. At one stage I start to resemble a tiger: all orange forehead, white cheeks and brown nose.

"Trust me," laughs Gary as I try to fashion my face into a frown.

Finally, it is time for the big reveal, as he delicately places the platinum wig.

I gasp as I stare back at the reflection that greets me - I look nothing like me.

I look like an American me, a polished, taut, bright-eyed and slightly fake version. I know Gary has done an amazing job but I honestly don't know what to make of it.

One thing I do know. Unlike Lady Gaga, I definitely was not Born This Way...

Lady Gaga's “GUY” Goes '90s House: Listen To Rami Samir Afuni's Remix

Lady Gaga is standing by and her current single despite the fact that radio and iTunes haven't exactly been kind to her of late. Mother Monster's latest endeavor is releasing a "G.U.Y." remix package, which should be gratefully lapped up by fans starved of new material. He brings a similar '90s house sound to "G.U.Y.", letting those magical keys run riot over Gaga's sassy club anthem. Listen to the retro-tastic remix after the jump.

Lady Gaga approved designer in Toronto for FAT

Benji Wong, otherwise known as Benji WZW, is one of the many unconventional fashion designers flocking to Toronto to present a collection at |FAT| (Fashion Art Toronto) this week (April 22-26).

The Hong Kong native was raised in Toronto and studied architecture at University of Waterloo, before up and leaving for a fashion program at Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. His 2013 graduate collection " That Paradise Would Be A Meme" pulled together everything he learned from both experiences, resulting in a surreal work of art that attracted the attention of a whole whack of contemporary publications. Lady Gaga even wore a jacket from the collection in an eTalk interview.

" Fall in Love With Machinery" is Benji's first endeavour out of school, and according to him, there's no better place to make his Fall/Winter 2014 debut than his hometown on the |FAT| runway this Thursday. After getting a chance to preview the menswear pieces in the flesh, I know he'll fit right in.

Taking inspiration from Japanese biker gang bosozoku, the collection narrates a story of hurt and heartbreak. Innovative fabric treatments and meticulously handcrafted details illustrate the push and pull of a poised, polished surface - broken and jagged on the inside. Digital-printed faux leather and couch foam bonded to silk satin give the biker jackets, trench coats, and kilts a structured silhouette; 3D printed embellishments, handpainted belts and holographic imagery suggest there's more to them than meets the eye. My favourite facet is definitely the creepy-cool baby motif found throughout the collection - most notably in the form of a giant helmet.

Always teetering on the fine line between wearable garment and postmodern sculpture, Benji WZW - together with |FAT| - is going to shake up the otherwise conservative Canadian fashion industry one avant-garde menswear piece at a time.

Tickets are available online or at the door, at $35 per day or $100 for a full week pass.

Meet Hatsune Miku, The Digital Japanese Pop Idol That Will Open For Lady ...

The Tupac hologram at last years Coachella festival blew our collective minds, but the Japanese have taken the idea of the digital performer to the next level, and Lady Gaga has taken notice. She'll have Hatsune Miku, a massively popular Japanese "digital" pop star that open for the first leg of her ARTPOP Ball tour this year.

Zedd On Coachella, Lady Gaga, And Why He Loves Queen

The Grammy-winning DJ tells TIME about his biggest musical influences, his upcoming album and musicians he hopes to collaborate with on future projects

Crowds poured into the Sahara Tent at the Coachella Valley Music Festival last weekend to see Anton Zaslavski, better known by his stage name Zedd, put on a high-energy show with big beats and dazzling visuals.

The 24-year-old German-Russian DJ - who has produced hits for the likes of Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber - exploded onto the EDM scene after releasing his debut album Clarity in October 2012. The album's title track won him a Grammy for "best dance recording" earlier this year.

Before taking the stage, Zedd spoke with TIME about his musical influences, upcoming album and the musicians he wants to collaborate with most.

You've played a lot of big venues, a lot of festivals. What's special to you about Coachella?

Coachella is one of the most important festivals in the world. I played here two years ago, and it was an incredible experience, but I played very early on. Obviously, you kind of want to have a nighttime slot, and now I have one of the best slots I could ever dream of. I love the Sahara tent and the vibe in there. From the first moment people get in there, there is an energy that I haven't seen on any other stage of the festival.

You won a Grammy for Clarity. What was that moment like?

It was entirely unreal. I brought my family out. I was kind of nervous because I thought maybe they expected me to win, and if I didn't, it might be kind of awkward. It's the first time they've ever been to America. My whole team was there also...

So I saw the names on the big screen and then somehow everything started moving in slow motion... I didn't even realize they called my name until everyone around me screamed in my ear, and I'm like 'alright, I got to think of something to say now.'

I had nothing prepared. I would have felt weird if I prepared a speech and didn't win, and at the same time, I thought that if I didn't prepare something, at least it will be really honest and real, and it was.

How did you get to work with Lady Gaga?

I remixed songs for [Gaga's] label, and I told the label that my dream would be to one day to make a song for her... And then one day, there was a point where they wanted to take my remix [of one of her songs] as a single version. They wanted me to meet her, so I played a show in London, and she was there. I got to talk with her for a minute, and she was like "lets make music together."

Then I wrote this little song - it was a minute and a half - and she heard [it] and called me immediately and basically wanted me to make the album. So it was a lucky thing. I wrote this piece and I didn't even think she would love it, but I thought it was really good and different and didn't sound like anything else out there. And then we slowly started working, and been working on tour together in Asia and after the shows we sat down and started writing songs. And then we were in the studio for months. So it's been wild.

Are there any other artists you would love to work with?

There are a million. There are people like Adele, and I love Katy Perry. There are also all the artists that inspired me to write music that I write today, like Radiohead, so I would love to work with and see what that would be like. Empire of the Sun is a band I love - I got to make a remix for them. Feeder is another one.

Who is your biggest musical influence?

Tough question. Daft Punk was a huge inspiration for getting started in electronic music. Queen has been one of the most inspirational bands for me over the course of the last years...because I've listened to their music and realized how much we don't do in electronic music and how big the field is to bring in ideas from other worlds. Radiohead is a band that has been very inspirational for me. Silverchair is another one. Mostly not electronic music acts to be completely honest.

Do you find yourself trying to incorporate those artists into your music?

I do. I'm working on my new album now. There's a song I started writing 2 and a half years ago, and I loved it, but I didn't have the right spot for it [on Clarity]. Now I've come back to it. I took all the synths out, and replaced them with guitars. That's something I would not have done a year ago. I think other genres definitely inspire me and make me do things I usually would not do or maybe that other people in the genre do.

What can you tell me about the new album?

It will sound a little different. I have a lot of song ideas, and I've started slowly producing and picking singers, which for me is the most important part. I think it will be similar to Clarity, but wider [and] more inspiration from other genres.

Where does your inspiration come from?

I'm not the kind of person who says when I see a beautiful landscape I'm inspired to write about song. To me, it's music that inspires music. Whenever I hear a chord progression I haven't heard before, I'm always like, 'damn, why didn't I think of this?' That's why I love Queen so much. One song of theirs has as much range as an album of other people's music. When I hear something I didn't expect to hear, that's what gives me a push.

Lady Gaga, 'G.U.Y'

Theo Wargo, Getty Images

Lady Gaga 's cleverly titled 'G.U.Y.' plays with words, meanings and double entendre in the lyrics. With 'G.U.Y.' being an acronym for 'Girl Under You,' she is also experimenting with the idea of gender-defined behaviors, role reversals and sexual politics in a relationship. So much subtext in one insanely catchy pop song!

This is what we've discerned as the deeper meaning of Gaga's 'G.U.Y.'

"I wanna be the girl under you / I wanna be your G.U.Y. / I wanna be the grave and earth / Our sex doesn't tell us no lies."

Here, Gaga's narrator seems OK with giving up control and submitting. It's her assessment of sexual politics, but it's also her way of letting go and giving in, and not being the one calling the shots. There can often be relief in such a scenario, especially for someone used to making all the decisions.

Also, Gaga is the patron saint of the LGBT community in 2014, so playing with the notion of the girl under you being a guy has multiple meanings, and her gay monsters can apply that concept to their read and interpretation of the song. It's her way of saying whatever it means for you to be a 'G.U.Y.,' by virtue of chromosomes or your dating preferences, it's totally OK.

"I'm gonna wear the tie, want the power to leave you / I'm aiming for full control of this love (of this love) / Touch me, touch me, don't be sweet / Love me, love me, please retweet / Let me be the girl under you that makes you cry."

The instinct is to chuckle at her millennial phrase about "retweeting," but what's more interesting and intriguing is the idea of a further gender role reversal. She says she wants to wear the tie, which could mean she wants to be the "man`" or at least adopt the responsibility of the male power structure in the relationship, so they are swapping the dominant and submissive positions. And the tie could also be a literal device used to bind someone and take control of them. But this doesn't have to be in the bedroom, either. It could be regarding their communication about anything in life.

"I don't need to be on top / To know I'm worth it / 'Cause I'm strong enough to know the truth / I just want it to be hot / Because I'm best when I'm in love / And I'm in love with you."

Here, Gaga's narrator says she has been in both positions - top and bottom, boss and subordinate - and she is fine with either. She doesn't need to take the reigns or be in charge. She's in love and any position suits her as long as she is with the one she loves.

That's the PopCrush analysis of Lady Gaga's 'G.U.Y.' What do you take away from this song?

Lady Gaga is Going on Tour with a Hologram

Meet Hatsune Miku, a 16-year-old performer with a string of hits in Japan and her own devoted following. She is opening for Lady Gaga's ARTPOP Ball tour in May and she would probably be excited about it if she was a living, breathing human being.

"My favorite digital pop star Hatsune Miku is opening The ARTPOP Ball from May 6-June 3!" tweeted Lady Gaga on April 15.

Officially, she is a "collaboratively constructed cyber celebrity" from Crypton Future Media, a pop sensation that sings lyrics written by fans using Yamaha's Vocaloid singing software.

Hatsune Miku (which translates to "first sound of the future") has sold out concerts in Japan, appearing "in the flesh" the same way Tupac Shakur did in 2012, projected onto a special screen in a technique called "Pepper's Ghost."

Apparently it takes more than six months for the people at Crypton to design each show, making each performance slightly more scripted than the set of your average pop star.

Leaked photos of makeup

Frazer Harrison/AMA2013/FilmMagic

The photographers behind Lady Gaga 's new Versace ads are freaking out that Hollywood A-listers will never work with them again after images of a raw, makeup-free Gaga from the shoot were leaked.

Art Partner, the company that represents collaborative fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, or "Mert and Marcus" as they're known, Wednesday morning sent out a cease-and-desist letter to all outlets who have published the pre-Photoshop pictures, in which Gaga is shown wearing zero makeup. The subject line reads, "Gaga Versace Copyright Infringement."

"Please remove your latest article immediately," the email reads. "This is copyright infringement, as these images were leaked without our consent and without the consent of our artists, Mert and Marcus. Should you have any specific questions about the matter, please contact our legal counsel. Please write to confirm when this article is deleted. If this is not removed, we will not hesitate to take legal action. Thank you."

The company also included a link to the post-Photoshop Versace pics that media outlets are allowed to use.

They are terrified the images leaked and are determined to find out who leaked them.

"They are terrified the images leaked and are determined to find out who leaked them," one insider close to the ad campaign tells Confidenti@l. "They are convinced it was an inside job. Now they believe they could lose future lucrative Versace campaigns and worse, the trust of celebs after this happened."

In the leaked photos, it appears the "Paparazzi" singer's makeup was added after the actual shoot, in which she shows off bags and lounges on a purple settee clad in the designer's clothes.

Gaga had been announced as the face of the campaign last November, with the fashion house saying, "Lady Gaga completely captures the Versace essence: creative, experimental, fearless."

The photography team of Mert and Marcus are well respected in the fashion industry - they're known as digital retouching experts and have shot for Interview, W and Vogue. They have shot portraits of Scarlett Johansson, Madonna, Gisele Bundchen and Jennifer Lopez for high-end labels like Miu Miu Louis Vuitton and Giorgio Armani and makeup house LancΓ΄me.

We're sure the outspoken Gaga will be just fine with everyone seeing her raw - she's been the subject of a Photoshop controversy before. In 2012, when she landed the cover of Vogue, a behind-the-scenes video the fashion bible released showed a very different-looking Gaga than the one on the cover.

Gaga handled it perfectly, tweeting: "Ahhh! The Vogue Express dropped off the September issue yesterday morning. I'm a Cover Girl, and its fab! Can't wait to show u tonight!"

Reps for Art Partner and Lady Gaga did not return calls for comment.

Lady Gaga goes gaga for Hatsune Miku, makes virtual idol her opening act

With Lady Gaga's rehabilitation from hip surgery apparently having progressed enough that the pop star is ready to contend with a grueling performance schedule, she's about to kick off a world tour celebrating her third album. But with millions of eyes on Gaga, she needs an opening act with a fan base large enough to do justice to the scale and importance of the six-month event, dubbed ArtRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball.

Fittingly for a singer who's made a name for herself with her provocative stances on image, perception, and reality, before Gaga takes the stage, concert goers will be entertained by a vocalist who doesn't even exist in three-dimensional space: virtual idol Hatsune Miku.

With less than a month until the tour starts, Gaga herself made the big announcement through her personal Twitter account, when she tweeted the following on April 15.

"Hatsune Miku is opening The ARTPOP Ball," wrote Gaga, who also linked a video of the aqua-tressed vocaloid performing "The World is Mine," one of her most representative hits which was also used by Toyota in an American commercial for its Corolla sedan.

Two things are notable about the May 6-June 3 timeframe Gaga mentions Miku will be serving as opening act for. First, it doesn't include the very first stop on the tour on May 4 in Fort Lauderdale. While this certainly detracts from the amount of international exposure Miku will receive, every venue within that span is in either the U.S. or Canada, so this is clearly not just a move to encourage fans in Miku's native Japan to buy tickets. ArtRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball doesn't swing through Japan until August 13, when the tour makes its one and only stop at Chiba Marine Stadium, for which the opening musician has yet to be determined.

The collaboration is a gigantic opportunity for Miku to win some fans on just about the largest music stage imaginable. For any other singer in this situation, we'd be worried about her ability to perform under such intense pressure, but somehow we have a feeling the virtual idol's vocal performance will be in keeping with the amazing consistency she's known for.

But, when will the big proposal actually happen? Insiders say that it was going to take place for the Born This Way singer's 28th birthday. However, Kinney didn't find the ring in time, so has pushed back the date.

"Taylor was considering proposing over her birthday," the insider tells the mag. "But he hadn't found the right ring in time. He wants to find something unique that will suit her personality."

Lady Gaga responds to Lily Allen 'martyr' praise: 'It was very sweet'

Lady Gaga has called Lilly Allen "very sweet" after hearing of her recent supportive comments.

Lily Allen recently defended the relatively poor sales of Gaga's album, saying that she should be "commended" for staying true to herself.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills, Gaga called for all artists to support each other, rather than create rifts.

She said: "That's very sweet, I've always been a very big fan of hers and I appreciate her standing up for artists and for me in particular, that's really admirable for her to do that.

"I think all artists should stand by one another. When it becomes a competition then we're not supporting creativity and art, but when you support one another wholeheartedly then you're supporting everyone and anything to make what they love."

She added: "I thought that was very sweet, so thank you Lily, you're lovely."

Allen had previously said: "If she's not succeeding commercially because she's standing by what she does as art, then that's a f**king great thing.

"That's to be commended. That's what makes a martyr. There's nothing wrong with that."

Lady Gaga recently revealed that she has enough material for a second instalment of ARTPOP, and that she may release it in the coming months.
