Fashion saved Lady Gaga from being 'sad'
Thursday 26 Dec 2013
Pop superstar Lady Gaga has revealed that her costumes and clothes have saved her from being sad.
The 27-year-old Bad Romance hitmaker admitted that her whacky outfit choices are what stops her from getting depressed.
Speaking to Fashion magazine the star said: "Fashion is that thing that saved me from being sad.
"I've always cared about my costumes and my clothes. When I leave my apartment I like to look pretty for my fans but not [in a] hot sexy girl [way] - I don't care about that. I just want to make you feel something with what I wear.
"I want you to feel happy and enjoy the theatre of my life the way that I do. No matter what happens with my music and wherever I go - that heart of that glamorous girl in New York will never be gone.
"This is who I am and it's never been an act and it's never been marketing. This is me all the way to my core and fashion is a big part of my life."
Lady Gaga also spoke candidly about her long-term relationship with actor Taylor Kinney. She said: "It has been hard for me to find it, but I have found love. When you meet someone that's not intimidated by the amazing people that are around you [or] by the love that you receive - that's love.
"Men weren't always happy for me. It was very challenging to watch a woman be so successful."

Lady Gaga Covers 'Fashion' Magazine February 2014
Lady Gaga wears a pair of crazy shaped glasses on the cover of Fashion magazine's February 2014 issue, on newsstands January 13.
Here is what the 27-year-old singer had to share with the mag:
On her boyfriend Taylor Kinney: "It has been hard for me to find it but I have found love. When you meet someone that's not intimidated by the amazing people that are around you [or] by the love that you receive-that's love. Men weren't always happy for me. It was very challenging to watch a woman be so successful."
On battling depression by making music: "I put all my pain into my work and as joyful as this album is, this joy and if you look at the album cover there's an explosion of joy that is coming from a place of intense sadness that's been in my heart since I was younger and this is why we understand each other because I was not born happy, naturally always joyful or believing in myself. I was born with a sad heart. I didn't feel alive unless I was on a stage."
On her intimate relationship with fashion: "Fashion is that thing that saved me from being sad. I've always cared about my costumes and my clothes. When I leave my apartment I like to look pretty for my fans but not [in a] hot sexy girl [way]-I don't care about that, I just want to make you feel something with what I wear. I want you to feel happy and enjoy the theatre of my life the way that I do."

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney Hold Hands in NYC—See the Pic!
Jackson Lee / Splash News
Looks like the holidays have inspired and boyfriend Taylor Kinney to pack on little PDA.
Just over a week after the notoriously private pair was caught sharing a sweet moment in London, the lovebirds, who are rarely photographed together, were snapped attending pal Marina Abramovic's show at the Park Avenue Armory in NYC.
The 32-year-old Chicago Fire star, who looked handsome as ever in a dark suit and hot-pink pocket square, held his ladylove's hand like a true gentleman as Gaga exited the vehicle while sporting sky-high heels, black fishnet tights sans pants and a flashy jacket with her platinum blond hair teased in a retro style (a fairly toned-down look in comparison to her more recent outfits).
READ: Gaga would also have a threesome with Taylor, if he was down
While the Mother Monster's man may not be as over-the-top when it comes to fashion, the 27-year-old pop star recently told Ellen DeGeneres that her beau is a "hidden weirdo."
"He is extremely strange, actually, and we complement each other's weirdness," she said in late November on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "That's actually one of the first things he ever said to me. It's a Dr. Seuss quote that you find in someone else a compatible weirdness."
The couple, who first met on the set of Gaga's music video for "You & I," also doesn't have any rules when it comes to their relationship.
"Everyone's so in a rush to define the relationship. I'm just really happy," she told Howard Stern in a recent interview. "I am lucky to be with somebody that has a great job...We don't have any rules about calling each other at certain times. We'll go days at a time without talking. Then we'll talk every day. The way that it really works is, we trust each other. He's on his journey, and I'm on mine, and we're gypsies-and then when we're together we're really in love."

Simon Cowell Thinks 'People Have Had Enough' Of Lady Gaga, Rates Beyonce ...
Simon Cowell believes Lady Gaga's "hype" has died down tremendously in 2013 and he surmises "people have just had enough" of her offerings.
The 53-year-old X Factor tycoon helped launch the successful careers of numerous pop stars, including Leona Lewis and British boyband One Direction.
And he believes Lady Gaga, who is known for her out-of-the-box performances and style, didn't make as much of a splash this year because people are moving on.
"I think overall this has been a really, really good year for music, I was saying that to someone last night, it's almost as if songs have come back into fashion again," he told Kay Burley and Stig Abell in a pre-recorded radio interview for LBC 97.3.
"I mean, some people have had a great year, some people have had a bad year, it's quite interesting that after all the hype, Lady Gaga, it's almost as if people have just had enough of it."
Gaga's ARTPOP album was released in November and climbed its way up the charts to the number one position in at least nine countries.
Despite her sustained appeal to the masses, Simon is convinced Gaga's peer Beyoncé Knowles is dominating the industry, especially after the R&B crooner released her fifth self-titled studio album unannounced last week to much success.
"You see the Beyoncé album drop out of nowhere in the middle of the night and crash the internet," he explained.
"No pre-promotion, no stupid pictures, nothing. And again, maybe this is the sign of how things are going to change in the future."
Simon's full interview on 2013: What A Year That Was is slated for broadcast on LBC 97.3 at noon on Boxing Day.
Rick Ross Sexes Up Lady GaGa in Remix of R. Kelly
December 21, 2013 04:31:47 GMT
The boss of Maybach Music Group lays his sexual verses while Kelly adds some new vocals on the track which originally appears in the Mother Monster's 'ARTPOP' album.
Rick Ross jumps on the remix of Lady GaGa's collaboration with R. Kelly, "Do What U Want". The boss of Maybach Music Group lays sexual verses while Kelly adds some new vocals on the DJ White Shadow-produced track, which originally appears in GaGa's " ARTPOP" album. The remix opens with Kelly singing, "Feel like a remix, yeah/ It must be the remix, yeah." Ross then joins him, rapping, "Photos of the Bawse just to post 'em on a blog/ Get alotta views cause they know we be the top/ Jean Basquiats in the hall, she my work of art so I pin her to the wall." Ross recently talked about how the collaboration bethween him and GaGa happened. He told Rap-Up, "For me to get to collab with her, that was a big one for the boss. If it's big for the boss, you know it's big." "[She's] a super-talented artist that loves to express herself to the fullest extreme," he added. "Shout out to Lady GaGa." The remix arrived just one day after Ross dropped his duet with Jay-Z, "The Devil Is a Lie". The track is set to be featured in Rozay's upcoming album, " Mastermind". Originally planned to be released on December 17, the record has been pushed back to early 2014.

Whatcha Say: Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera Got Our Readers ...
'Twas another busy week here at Idolator! It was all about Yoncé all week long on Idolator - from her record-breaking Billboard success, to her project second week reign, to our most recent Ibrawlator. (Have you voted on your favorite Beyoncé album yet?) Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera teamed up for what was surely the most iconic duet of our time on The Voice, while Brit Brit served up some scones to an unsuspecting stan.
Our look back at 2013 continued this week with our Top 10 lists from our contributors, our readers' Top 10 (that's you!), our analysis of The End of EDM in '13, as well as the Top 10 worst album covers of the year. And, looking forward, we spoke to and Carmen Electra about their music.
As always, you guys had plenty to say about this week's pop happenings. Check it out below!
:: Mike remained deeply unimpressed with Miley on Most Fascinating Person Miley Cyrus Talks Scandal-Baiting With Barbara Walters: Watch: "She may not have said it directly but it's implied that without nudity her performances would be considered boring. Thus, nudity. Every celebrity gets negative comments regardless of what they do. But not every celebrity needs to do all that to be interesting. And yes, she got our attention as she says she was trying to do. But then what did she do with it? Not much. There is a difference between controversy for controversy's sake and doing things that happen to be controversial."
:: While Chris remained deeply over EDM on 2013 In Review: The Beginning Of The End Of Pop's EDM Era: "I despise EDM. Rave music had this certain mystique before it went mainstream, like when it was mostly underground artists. I liked it that way and I used to listen to a lot of interesting arrangements. But it does not work as pop music, it's beyond annoying. One of the worst fads to ever overcome music. I think the worst offense was when R&B artists turned to EDM, that was the breaking point. Awful. Now, I'm noticing that websites are either Pro-Bangerz or Strongly Against. I disagree with your opinion. It's certainly not a mess. It's quite diverse and the most interesting record of the year."
:: And JimRester was just happy to have his House back: "I am so happy EDM is going back into the clubs and undergound for the real dance music lovers! Lets get back to calling it HOUSE music. This music wont fully ever go away though. It is future music. Always has been, as long as computers are around!! Long live the beats! Great article BTW."
:: S R went gaga for the Gaga-Xtina powerhouse performance on The Voice finale on 'The Voice' Finale: Lady Gaga And Christina Aguilera Perform Together, Tessanne Chin Wins Season 5: "Truly amazing. This duo is truly the work of the queens of pops joining forces to take on the insurmountable Bey. Resistance may be futile, but I'll enjoy it over and over. There was only one better duo this year - Gaga with RuPaul on the Muppet special, #fashion. Why didn't that get move love from Idolator??"
:: As did blaackeagle: "OMG! Gaga and Xtina killed the stage - amazing duet! Both talanted, yes, they seem like sisters, incredible alike vocals! Though Gaga is more fierce Xtina still has that competitive diva soul. Definitely they SHOULD DUET again! And the song - to my opinion - second best by Gaga after Bad Romance! Impressed! The best tv-performance of this year!"
:: And thanks for the love, Kimdell! "This was a good, balanced and succinct recap, especially for me who couldn't watch it (since I don't live in the US). Thanks Idolator!"
:: drew remained unbothered by Target's shade on Target Refuses To Sell Beyonce's New Album: "It's a dumb move for Target. Beyonce's physical album will still sell copies. But in reality, people shouldn't be so upset. Queen Bey is already slaying the world. She claimed 2013 at the last possible second. Even me, who's been trash talking her all year for not releasing anything. Now here we are with a super cohesive, artful album that is sure to sell even more... Bey doesn't need Target. But I'm still going there for the fitted Merona shirts."
:: Elijah also found Target's move to be a poor one: "Considering how many exclusive deluxe editions they're happy to sell - including Beyoncé's 4 - Target's really going to act like a spoiled child this time? They may not like that she proved this weekend that she doesn't need them for massive first week sales, but my guess is they're screwing themselves for any exclusives with her in the future. And if other artists choose to go the same route, Target's either going to have to lose future sales or bend to this new method."
:: And Michelle waxed nostalgic (and came back to the future!) on Ibrawlator: Which Beyoncé Album Is Your Favorite?: "I went on a Beyonce binge a few weeks back trying to figure out which album of hers was my favourite. I landed on 'Dangerously In Love' because she seemed so free back then and had no pressure to be so polished or perfect. It felt like the real Beyonce then and as her albums progressed she kind of got lost. Now I have to say this new self-titled album is my favourite. It has all the freedom of 'Dangerously In Love' with all the experience and reality of '4.' It's a total game changer for Bey and firmly cements her as our Queen!!!"
:: And finally, xoxo took one look at the Idolator Readers Best of '13 poll and made a recommendation on Best Music 2013: Idolator Readers Choose The 10 Best Albums Of The Year: "You might want to redo this. One word: Beyonce."

Simon Cowell says the world's had enough of Lady Gaga and thinks Beyonce's ...
The music mogul reckons has nothing but praise for Beyonce, though
Si reckons it's all over for Gaga
Simon Cowell isn't exactly a huge fan of Lady Gaga.
In fact, the X Factor boss reckons that music fans around the world have simply "had enough of her."
Simon reckons that there has been an awful lot of hype around the True Romance singer in 2013 but despite her being absolutely everywhere - not to mention her raunchy appearance on the X Factor earlier this year - he thinks she might be over.
In a no holds barred interview with Kay Burley and Stig Abell on LBC 97.3, Simon, 53, said: "I think overall this has been a really, really good year for music, I was saying that to someone last night, it's almost as if songs have come back into fashion again.
"I mean, some people have had a great year, some people have had a bad year, it's quite interesting that after all the hype, Lady Gaga, it's almost as if people have just had enough of it."
Si thinks Bey's the bomb
But the music mogul has nothing but praise for Beyonce, in particular her album that she surprised us all with ten days ago.
She came out of the blue with it by launching through iTunes - which meant none of it was leaked and there was no hype at all.
Simon reckons that this is the way forward, and that Beyonce will be around for a lot longer than Lady Gaga.
He added: "You see the Beyoncé album drop out of nowhere in the middle of the night and crash the internet.
No pre-promotion, no stupid pictures, nothing. And again, maybe this is the sign of how things are going to change in the future."
Hear the rest of the interview on 2013: What A Year That Was - to be broadcast on LBC 97.3 on Boxing Day at 12pm.
Lady Gaga Buys Boyfriend Taylor Kinney Full
Blimey...
Lady Gaga has allegedly bought her boyfriend a full-size sex doll for Christmas, if a report is to be believed.
It is claimed in a British mag that the 'Do What U Want' hitmaker has splashed out on the special gift for Taylor Kinney to "enjoy" while she's away on tour.
And the price of the extravagant prezzie? £15,000, according to Heat.
"She's splashed out £15,000 on a replica full-sized sex doll and is going to dress it in lingerie which he likes so he can enjoy it while she's on tour next year - plus, an £1,800 spanker and a £6,000 diamond-encrusted leather whip," the publication's source claimed.
That's not all Taylor can look forward to, if the rumour is true. It is also said that she wants Taylor to come with her on a very particular kind of night out the next time they're in New York.
"She's trying to persuade Taylor to attend a fetish party with her. She's been boasting to her friends about her sexy surprises for him," the insider claimed.
Lady Gaga's had an eventful 2013 as she's finally bought out her third album. ARTPOP, preceeded by the single 'Applause', topped charts on both sides of the Atlantic when it was released in November, but posted considerably lower sales than its predecessor; 2011's Born This Way.
The star is set to take the collection on a massive arena tour in 2014, no doubt pulling out all the stops for another big-budget extravaganza.
The Royal Baby Is Serving So Much Lady Gaga Realness!
One second, I'm the Prince of Cambridge, then suddenly the Gaga's me!
With 2013 coming to a close, there are so many stray observations we missed the chance to put out into the world. So, major late pass on this one, but does anyone else think that Prince George (aka the #RoyalBaby) is totally channeling Lady Gaga in this photo from October??
The royal progeny of Prince William and Duchess Kate was actually adorned in this très elegant getup for his baptism at Chapel Royal in St. James' Palace. We know that such a lewk is expected for a Christening. But for the 2010 BRIT Awards, where the " Do What U Want " singer is heading in the above picture? News to us!
So, what do you think? Is this a total coincidence, OR could the royal family actually be secret Little Monsters???? We suppose we'll have to wait and see if little George arrives at his first birthday riding a horse made of human beings to make the final call.
Until then, we have one thing to say: YAAAAAAAAAS! YAAAAAAAAAS,Prince George! You look sooo good! Oh my god, YAAAAAAAAAS!

Lady Gaga Debuts Green Hair
Lady Gaga, 27, was at O'Hare airport on Dec. 18 wearing the colors of the rainbow on her pants and a green hairdo on her head. While quickly signing autographs, the singer and her bodyguards were rushing through the airport towards the city so Gaga could see her boyfriend Taylor Kinney, 32. Are you loving her wild hair look? Vote below!
Lady Gaga's Green Hair - Love It Or Hate It?
Gaga is putting Kermit the frog to shame by showing everyone that it is easy being green! The singer claims her favorite colors are black, lavender and dark pink, so why has she chosen these green locks? Some people like to match their socks, others their bra and underwear, and it appears Gaga - her nail and hair color. Do you like Gaga's new look or is it too over the top, even for her?
Take Our PollHer Christmas Tree Transformation
Mother Monster - more like Mother Nature - preformed at the Jingle Bell Ball 2013 on Dec. 8 in London, England dressed as a Christmas tree. Has the singer had a vision of this look since her song "Christmas Tree" in 2008? She says: "The only place you'll want to be is underneath my Christmas tree," and now with her green hair - she looks like one! All she needs is some lights and a star on top!
It looks like Gaga has substituted her heavy eye makeup and fake eyelashes to focus the attention towards her green Troll hair. Although she was spotted with sunglasses on, the green hair allows her to automatically stand out without dramatic eye makeup. Has Gaga found a way to match the season or is this just a fun new look?
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Gaga's green hair is cool or just too crazy?

Wayne Coyne rates Miley Cyrus' 'aesthetic' over Lady Gaga's
The Flaming Lips frontman says he likes performers who are 'inside the rainbow'
The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne has said that he rates Miley Cyrus' 'aesthetic' over Lady Gaga's.
When asked if he was a fan of the 'Wrecking Ball' singer, the frontman said he thought she was "fun". He told Rolling Stone: "I like her aesthetic more than Lady Gaga, who this year to me feels like, "Take me serious" and Miley's like, "I don't give a fuck," which to me is always a lot more fun. I really like that thing where the people are inside the rainbow and they walk around. I just like that sort of stuff."
He added that all music is "personality driven", saying: "All music is never just about the music. It's personality driven and it's about the way they make news and what they say when they're in the news. All that stuff plays into whether you like it or dislike it. I'd say it's fun. I'd much rather have someone up there smoking pot and really living it and not worry about the consequences."
The Flaming Lips' cover of The Stone Roses 'Elizabeth My Dear', reportedly featuring pop star Ke$ha on backing vocals, was recently revealed online. Scroll down to listen to the track. The US band released their Stone Roses covers album, titled 'The Time Has Come To Shoot You Down... What A Sound', on November 29 as part of the Black Friday releases. The vinyl only release was limited to 500 pressings with copies of the album now changing hands on eBay.
Stereogum reports that Ke$ha's vocals appear uncredited on the cover version. Earlier this year, frontman Wayne Coyne said that the collaborative album between his band and the pop singer is now no longer happening. Tweeting on November 7, Coyne said that it was a "sad" situation but couldn't tell fans why the project had been pulled. He wrote: "As of now ...sadly there will be no Lip$ha.... I can't say why... It is sad...".

Think it's not easy going green?
It is if you're Lady Gaga, who has been showing off her newly green head of hair lately.
The singer, who is known for her bold style statements, most recently flaunted her colorful locks as she made her way through Los Angeles International Airport earlier today, rocking flowing neon green strands and wearing a fur coat paired with sky-high heels.
Before that, Mother Monster turned heads with a punchy Kelly green-hued bob, which she gave us a peek at in a spread for Terry Richardson's blog.

There's no telling whether the color chameleon has any additional plans to experiment with another shade of emerald or a different hair length, but it appears she's still turning to her trusty wigs for performances.
Just last night, she took to The Voice stage with Christina Aguilera in a short platinum blond wig with blunt bangs.

Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera perform the ultimate duet on The Voice US
Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera went head-to-head as they fought for the title of 'biggest voice' when they shared the stage on The Voice US.
The two vocal powerhouses battled it out to sing Gaga's track Do What U Want during the final of the singing competition on Tuesday.
Both Gaga, 27, and The Voice coach took turns belting out the notes as they held hands and smiled at each other during the performance.
At one point the Applause singer rested her head on Xtina's chest while she stroked her head before a waiter served them champagne.
At the end of their duet - originally sung with R.Kelly - the pair locked arms and drank, before smashing their glasses on the ground, and hugged.
Taking inspiration from the 1970s, Gaga donned a massive pair of shoulder pads in a gold disco queen outfit while Aguilera opted for a slinky frock.
Taking to Twitter after their performance, the pair gushed about each other with Gaga writing: '@xtina thank you for performing with me, your heart is as big as your voice. Such a fan for so long, I can't believe we shared the stage.'
While the 32-year-old Beautiful singer wrote: 'She is such a powerhouse vocalist and I was honored to join the stage with @ladygaga tonight on #TheVoice! Xo'
Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga Perform on The Voice, Effectively Putting ...
What a way to end the year!
To celebrate the season finale of The Voice, Christina Aguilera and performed together for the very first time on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Universal City, Calif. The long-rumored rivals showed no signs of animosity as they belted out the latter's hit, "Do What U Want," in matching lamé outfits.
The platinum-haired pop stars even swigged champagne during the number, no doubt toasting their newly formed friendship. "I was really excited because The Voice called and wanted me to perform on the finale and I obviously can't refuse," said Gaga, 27. "It's such an amazing show and I said, 'I'll do it, but I want to know if Christina will do it with me."

Aguilera, 33, was flattered by the suggestion. "This is the first time we've ever met and I have to say, when I heard she wanted to collaborate I said, 'Of course! Lady Gaga!' I've been waiting to meet her. She's such an innovative artist and a risk taker and as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that."
"She's the most down to earth real person that I've ever met in this business. Female to female in this industry, it's really hard to find that kind of a person," Aguilera added. "I love you girl, and you deserve everything that you've earned."

After the show aired, Aguilera tweeted about her duet partner. "She is such a powerhouse vocalist and I was honored to join the stage with @ladygaga tonight on #TheVoice!"
The day prior, Gaga spent some time "catching up" on the talent competition and voiced her support for Aguilera's contestant, Jacquie Lee. "Beautiful girl with a beautiful voice!" she tweeted.
Aguilera in turn replied, "Wow!! Thank you for the incredible support for @jacquieleemusic." (Lee, of course, lost to Adam Levine's mentee, reggae/soul artist Tessanne Chin.)
The divas' duel began in 2008, when Aguilera made a series of seemingly sly digs at a then up-and-coming Gaga. Though fans stirred the pot via social media, the singers made nice earlier this year.
NEWS: Christina Aguilera strips down for Maxim
"I'm a very big fan of Christina Aguilera," Gaga said on the Sept. 11 episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. "From the very beginning of when my career started, there was all this controversy about the two of us. I always felt that it was very unfair."
"All I know is that people were talking about Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga in the same sentence, and I was nobody!" she continued. "I just think it's very unfair of anyone to pit another woman against another woman, especially in the space of music when we are all just trying to be taken seriously."
"Christina is an incredible vocalist and an incredible artist," the New York City native added. "From me to her, I'm so sorry for anything that anyone ever said to her because of my existence. And I hope that she never felt any way about it, because when I was 15, I was singing 'I Turn to You' at the top of my lungs trying to hit all her notes. So she was an inspiration to me to have a wider vocal range, and I just think it's all total nonsense the way that they do that."
Hopefully this is just the beginning of many more duets between Aguilera and Gaga!

Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera Trade Verses for 'The Voice'
Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera Trade Verses for 'The Voice'
Dressed in a champagne-colored, boney-shouldered kimono, Lady Gaga treated viewers of the finale last night to a special rendition of her track "Do What U Want," and it was not just because Voice coach Christina Aguilera (who wore her own champagne gown) joined her for a disco-y vocal showdown. Aguilera's verse culled lyrics from a line Gaga posted to her social media accounts in January, bypassing the lascivious mind of R. Kelly, with whom Gaga duetted on the original version of the song.
Where Did 'Do What U Want' Rank Among the 100 Best Songs of 2013?
Earlier this year, just days before she announced she would be canceling a tour to get hip surgery, Gaga wrote, "My bones hurt from all the shows but I don't feel the pain cuz I'm a pro/I sink in then I'm ok cuz my body belongs to you when I'm onstage." Aguilera sang a slightly revised version of the lines in the finale shortly after emerging from behind a giant shell. The Gaga fan site Gagapedia suggests (without attribution) that the lyrics were to be included in a "solo" version of the song, before Kelly came aboard.
That aside, the duo played off each other perfectly. On a set graced with a smoky floor, a chaise lounge and two tuxedo-clad waiters who quite formally presented the pair with glasses of champagne (of course), Gaga and Aguilera let their voices fly on the verses. After holding hands on the chaise, with Aguilera nuzzling Gaga to her bosom, the duo wrapped arms around each other as they took a drink and added one more twist on the song's lyrics: "Do what you want with my body, world."
When they were finished, the two women talked about their first performance together. "I was really excited because The Voice called and said they wanted me to perform on the finale, and I obviously can't refuse such an amazing show," Gaga said, according to Us Magazine. "And I said I want to know if Christina wants to do it with me."
"This is the first time we've ever met," Aguilera said. "When I heard she wanted to collaborate, I said of course. She's such an innovative artist and a risk-taker. And as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that. And I just have to say guys, she's the most down-to-earth, real person I've met. So I love you, girl, and you deserve everything you've earned." Later, Aguilera tweeted, "She is such a powerhouse vocalist and I was honored to join the stage with Lady Gaga tonight on The Voice!"

'The Voice' Finale: Lady Gaga And Christina Aguilera Perform Together ...
Hell Hath Frozen Over...
Lady Gaga! Celine Dion! Christina Aguilera! Ne-Yo! OneRepublic! The Voice Final 3! The other 17 contestants from this season that have already been forgotten! There is no marquis big enough to fit the superstar names that performed on Tuesday nights' finale of The Voice, especially when the slightly-less superstar names of the Top 20 who also performed are added.
All of the coaches come dolled up for the occasion, and whereas Adam Levine and Blake Shelton went safe with suits, Cee Lo goes with a sparkly pinstripe outfit he describes as "disco balls." Christina Aguilera is also dressed like a slightly more svelte disco ball...or shall we say a disco stick? Perhaps a subliminal nod to Lady Gaga.
Between some incredible duets, requisite "Bring Back" performances and the grand debut of the first ever original single from The Voice, there was a lot happening on Tuesday night beyond a simple results announcement. Here are the highlights.
Kicking off the show, the Top 20 from Season 5 return to sing Outasight's "Tonight Is The Night." To name them all would require an appendix*, but it was certainly a walk down memory lane. Or lack of memory lane. It was like a 10-year high school reunion where you want to remember everyone's name, but so much has happened since you last saw them. Sure, it's only been a few weeks, but perhaps next year The Voice can institute name tags.
Jacquie Lee solicits the help of Matthew Schuler, Caroline Pennell, Cole Vosbury and James Wolpert for her bring back performance. The gang sings Queen 's "Bohemian Rhapsody," with Cole standing out above the rest. They all get major credit for overcoming the off-beat audience clapping, which re-emerges with vengeance for the finale.
Celine Dion is up next, and sings "Love Can Move Mountains" with Tessanne Chin. Prior to the performance, Tessanne is actually in tears of excitement. On stage, however, there are no tears to be seen: just pure, fabulous, professional divas. Tessanne pulls off the duality of humble and diva perfectly.
Before premiering his new Voice-exclusive single for the upcoming winner, Ryan Tedder leads OneRepublic in a performance of "I Lived." He gets ahead of the audience's rhythm problem, and starts them in a rhythmically-correct clap. Smart move, Tedder, smart move.

Nic Hawk, Preston Pohl, Matthew Schuler, Ray Bradbury and Josh Logan return to the stage to sing Bruno Mars ' "Treasure." It's a fun, feel-good performance, but that group could have really gone bigger with the outfits than the yawn-inducing black and white suits. Only Nic is brave enough to go out of the box and wear white shoes. Luckily, the stage design provides more than enough pizzaz to overcome the wardrobe monotony, and the vocals are on point.
Jonny Gray, Cole Vosbury, Caroline Pennel and Austin Jenckes are on hand for Will Champlin's bring back performance of Bob Dylan/ Old Crow Medicine Show 's "Wagon Wheel." The performance is very straight forward, with minimal choreography and almost a camp sing-a-long feel.
Jacquie Lee joins Paramore to perform their new single, "Ain't It Fun?" Well it IS fun, however just about the most mismatched pairing possible for Jacquie Lee. Next to a completely comfortable Hayley Williams letting loose on stage, Jacquie Lee loos like she's uncomfortably jogging and skipping in place, while simultaneously trying not to look completely out of place. Jacquie Lee leaves nothing to be desired in the singing, but Kat Robichaud's stage presence would have been a better fit.
Speaking of Kat Robichaud, she's back on stage with Shelbie Z., Stephanie Anne Johnson, Tamara Chauniece, Grey and Amber Nicole, joining forces to become a non-finalist Lady Super Group of sorts. The team sings Kelly Clarkson 's "My Life Would Suck Without You," and all diva it up in their own ways. Kat even throws in a few kicks for old time's sake!
When Celine Dione makes a television appearance, she doesn't mess around. Taking the stage for an encore (sort of), she performs "Incredible" with Ne-Yo. Finalists, take note: that's what pitch perfect sounds like (and, incidentally, that's what "smizing through Botox" looks like).
Will Champlin is joined by Aloe Blacc to sing "Wake Me Up," which was previously performed this season by Caroline Pennell. The back to basics performance of the song, backed by a string section, is refreshing.
James Wolpert, Preston Pohl, Olivia Henken and Grey join Tessanne Chin in her bring back performance of "Hold On, I'm Coming." Preston's soulful voice and dance moves make a splash, and there's a whole lot of "woo!"ing going on up on stage on all fronts.
In arguably the most exciting performance of the night, Lady Gaga sings "Do What U Want," sans R. Kelly, but with Christina Aguilera! Best. Surprise. Ever. The gold-clad, platinum haired, chaise lounge loving, dramatic pop stars are definitely sisters from another mister, despite the fact that they only met when this performance came about. "She's like the most down to earth person I've met in this business," says Christina after the performance, semi-shattering everything Gaga goes for. Please collaborate more often, legends!
With all of this sparkle, it's easy to forget that the whole point of this finale is ratings/to announce the Season 5 winner! Carson Daly gives himself plenty of time for dramatic pauses in said announcement, so stare into space for 30 seconds between each reveal to experience the results as they were intended.
Third Place: Team Adam's Will Champlin. He looks bummed, but luckily the other 17 contestants of the final 20 are there to remind him that last place on the finale isn't actually last place.
Second Place: Team Christina's Jacquie Lee. So close, yet so far away. She should take solace knowing she's just as likely to make an appearance on the show next year as the winner.
And the Winner is...: Tessanne Chin. She flips out, and the pyrotechnics that follow all but make her faint. There's no time to celebrate, though, as she jumps right into the debut performance of the Ryan Tedder-penned "Tumbling Down." It's an understandably breathless performance to start, but she'll be reprising it during the Rose Bowl on The Voice float. Big things ahead.
And with that, Season 5 comes to a close, with a whole two months to wait before Season 6. How do you feel about the results? Do Tessanne or any of the finalists stand a chance for big success off The Voice stage?
* Appendix time! The final 20: Tessanne Chin, Jacquie Lee, Will Champlin, Cole Vosbury, James Wolpert, Matthew Schuler, Ray Boudreaux, Caroline Pennell, Austin Jenckes, Kat Robichaud, Jonny Gray, Josh Logan, Preston Pohl, Stephanie Anne Johnson, Olivia Henken, Amber Nicole, Tamara Chauniece, Shelbie Z, Grey, Nic Hawk

Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga put feud rumors to rest with duet on 'The Voice ...
Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga had quite an introduction Tuesday night during the star-studded finale of "The Voice."
Although the two musical pop princesses had never met before, they sang alongside one another in matching outfits to perform Gaga's hit "Do What U Want."
"This is the first time we've ever met and I have to say, when I heard she wanted to collaborate I said, 'Of course! Lady Gaga!' I've been waiting to meet her," Aguilera said.

Their duet and the comments that followed seemed to dismiss past feuding rumors between the divas.
"I was really excited because 'The Voice' called and wanted me to perform on the finale and I obviously can't refuse," Gaga said. "It's such an amazing show and I said, 'I'll do it, but I want to know if Christina will do it with me.'"
Their performance was jam-packed with powerhouse vocal skills, dancing, and even a moment when they held hands and Gaga rested her head on Aguilera's chest.

"I've been waiting to meet her," the 33-year-old "Feel This Moment" singer added about Gaga. "She's such an innovative artist and a risk taker, and as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that."
Aguilera continued gushing over her new confidant and said, "She's the most down to earth real person that I've ever met in this business. Female to female in this industry, it's really hard to find that kind of person. I love you girl, and you deserve everything that you've earned."
On the other hand, Aguilera did not earn the coveted title of "The Voice's" winning coach, but despite coming in second to Team Adam's Tessanne Chin, she still had plenty to celebrate in her talented protégé Jacquie Lee, who Gaga also applauded.

"Been catching up on THE VOICE, I love @jacquieleemusic. Beautiful girl with a beautiful voice!" the 27-year-old "Applause" singer tweeted Dec. 13. "Vote for her monsters."
"Wow!! Thank you for the incredible support," Aguilera replied.
It looks like the beginning of their love fest started in September before they hit the stage together, which put to rest the speculations that they were at odds.
"I'm a very big fan of Christina Aguilera," Gaga said on "Watch What Happens Live" on Sept. 12. "From the very beginning of when my career started, there was all this controversy about the two of us. I always felt that it was very unfair."
Aguilera reportedly spouted out snide remarks about Gaga during the early stages of her career in 2008, which were blown out of proportion by fans through social media.
But if Tuesday night's performance was any indication of where the ladies are today, there doesn't seem to be much negativity between the two of them anymore -- if there ever was.
"When I was 15 I was singing 'I Turn to You' at the top of my lungs trying to hit all her notes," Gaga added on the Bravo late-night talk show. "So she was an inspiration to me to have a wider vocal range."
